I've been seeing pretty low participation in the eda read-along (and as such, it's been on an informal hiatus). I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on continuing or discontinuing it.

Would you like to see it continued and would you participate if it did? Is there anything different that you'd like to see happen?

Hey, thanks to those who participated in the last discussion!

Our next book is The Fall of Yquatine by Nick Walters! This one features a new romantic adventure for Fitz, a bit of timey-wimey-ness, and a new development in Compassion's strange condition. There's also some pie. If you're so inclined you can find more information, along with a complete synopsis and continuity notes, at the Doctor Who Reference Guide.

For anyone that's new to the discussion, here's how it goes: We've been making our way through the EDAs (Eighth Doctor Adventure novels) that feature Fitz. I post up a PDF file of the next book in the line and two weeks later we have a discussion both here at the community and in an irc chatroom. Anyone and everyone is free to join in the conversation. It's great fun and we all discover more about our favorite characters. If you feel like catching up, take a look at the EDA read-along tag for the download links (or feel free to start with this one).

Hello everyone! Our last discussion post hasn't had many responses, so if you've read Parallel 59 and have any comments to make feel free to stop by and do so.

Our next book in line is The Shadows of Avalon by Paul Cornell! haven't had the pleasure of reading this one, but anything with the Brigadier, Gallifreyan agents, and dragons dueling jet fighters can't be all bad! If you're so inclined you can find more information, along with a complete synopsis and continuity notes, at the Doctor Who Reference Guide.

Hey folks, it's that time again! (Actually, significantly past that time. Sorry for dropping off the face of the Earth for a little while there. Can I blame TARDIS malfunction?)

Our next book was totally worth the wait! It's Parallel 59 by Natalie Dallaire and Stephen Cole! This one is great for Fitz fans because nearly half of the book is narrated by him. Also, evidence is mounting about something genuinely weird happening with Compassion. HM. Sounds fascinating, doesn't it? If you're so inclined you can find more information, along with a complete synopsis and continuity notes, at the Doctor Who Reference Guide. If you'd just like to get to the book already, here it is:

Anything else?

Hey, everyone! I was glad to see a lot of discussion in the last read-along post!

OR, as the book itself provides questions, maybe you'd like to take a shot at answering one of them instead... )

Hey everyone! I was glad to see participation in both the chat and the discussion thread this past Sunday! Lets try to keep that going as we move on to the next book in our Eighth Doctor Adventures read-along.

Next up is The Blue Angel by Paul Magrs and Jeremy Hoad. I'm looking forward to the discussion of this one because there are a lot of odd, diverse elements and I'm interested to see how everyone interprets them. If you're so inclined, you can find more information, along with a complete synopsis and continuity notes at the Doctor Who Reference Guide.

Hey, everyone! We're going to dive into Interference by Lawrence Miles today! If you need a bit of a reminder, you can check out the plot summary at the Doctor Who Reference Guide, or check the tags for the download link.

Feel free to drop into The Act_three Chat Room any time this evening. I'll be there after four this afternoon (7 EST).

EDIT: Actually, the AIM chat is a bit...terrible, really, so I've set up an IRC channel through Mibbit. Go to http://www.mibbit.com/chat/, type in a nick and #act_three to join. Thanks, and I'm sorry people have been having some issues. Hopefully this'll work.

For our discussion post this week, instead of specific questions, I'd like to ask what has confused or intrigued you so far about the story? What do you think of Fitz's role in the story so far, and what do you expect from the second half?

Hey everyone, this is just a reminder that we'll be discussing Interference: Part One this Sunday!

(Also, remember to stop by the chat room Sunday evening - I hope to see you there!)
[identity profile] cosmic-celery.livejournal.com
Hey, everyone! Thanks for participating in the last discussion post. Please do feel free to keep discussing there if you have any thoughts to add. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Normally our next discussion would fall on Easter Sunday, so I've scheduled it for a week after. I'm sure we'll all have enough Who that weekend with the start of series five.

Our next book is Interference: Book One (Shock Tactic) by Lawrence Miles. There's quite a lot to talk about in this one, and quite a lot that gets referenced in books down the line! If you're so inclined, you can find more information, along with a complete synopsis and continuity notes at the Doctor Who Reference Guide.

As this is a two-part novel, I'll be putting up both download links now so you can finish that story at whatever pace you wish. :)

There's been some talk about wanting to do a chat after we've all read the book, so I've set up an AIM chat for us to use on the evening of the 20th. If anyone has issues with AIM, I'm sure we could take it somewhere else as well.

Our next book is Fitz with Nazis Autumn Mist by David A. McIntee ([livejournal.com profile] lonemagpie). If you're so inclined, you can find more information, along with a complete synopsis and continuity notes at the Doctor Who Reference Guide.

Hey everyone. I'm sorry that I dropped the ball with the last read-along post (or rather, the lack of one). But, as we've taken a bit of an unplanned break, it seems the perfect time to ask:

How are you feeling about the read-along? Are you interested in continuing, and at the same pace? Do you like participating in discussions, or just reading along without the discussion?
